As she burrows further down, she begins to experience panic attacks, not helped by her partner’s doubts and accusations. Waddell’s film is a minimalist but potent portrait capturing differing modes of expression within an artistic practice and within a young relationship.

Set in a world where gesture replaces dialogue and repetition becomes revelation, the film distorts interpersonal realities through a self-aware visual language. Bodies become alphabets, and motion becomes meaning, as fractured dialogues and blurred identities drift across a spectrum of naturalism. The Chair stages the absurdity of communication in a globalised age — where meaning slips, routines repeat, and beginnings are forgotten.

Everyone creates a shell for themselves, this shell represents the fear, the fear of failing at something. This shell is filled with false ideas about ego and everything surrounding it. The process of going through hell to accomplish the goal of self-fulfillment and freedom is what drives this story.
